Meet Our Fiber

We import our 100% baby alpaca yarn from a mill in Peru. They work with small farmers and also have a ranch to research and improve the fiber of alpacas. They do batch tracing on their yarn, which helps us ensure our clothing has fine fibers and a long staple length, so it’s soft, pilling resistant, and lasts a long time.

The yarn we order is the natural color of the alpaca fibers. There are two types of alpaca: huacaya and suri. We use huacaya fibers because it has a natural crimp, which helps it spin more finely.

We have had a wonderful experience with our current supplier, and we are also looking into sourcing some of our fiber locally in California, and spinning the yarn in the US.

Here is a video from our supplier, Inca Tops:

Our yarn is certified Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX.
